Opened in 1988 by Orv Madden, Hot Topic has been a hit for young men and women into pop culture and the music scene. With over 600 locations across the country, if it's hip and pop culture related, this brand is going to have something to do with it most likely. The retail locations are known for playing loud music, but this isn't something that bothers most of their customers, who are really into the music scene. Some people (MC Lars) has sung that Hot Topic Clothing is not Punk Rock, but he seems to miss the whole point of this brand. • Pop - Pop culture is ... well, popular, and for good reason. (Again, you can't really say this about The Gap clothing.)

• Topics - One of the great things about this company (and one of the reasons you should buy from them), is that they give back to the communities they serve. Other companies do this as well, but for Hot Topic, helping people is somewhat of a priority.

If you're near a mall, you're likely going to have a Hot Topic close by. And even if there's not one in your town, there's more than likely one close by. Even if there isn't, though, there are other options. The company does very well online by mixing what they're selling with popular culture references and songs all over the website.

Whether you purchase online or go to the mall to get your fix, this brand is one most men and women want to have in their wardrobe.
